I first came to the Group as a sales trainee. My traineeship was extended by a fixed-term contract until I was appointed marketing assistant in German-speaking Switzerland under the programme of National Service Overseas. After 8 months in marketing, I had the bel group job offer as Logistics Manager. The subsidiary urgently needed a person speaking both French and German to handle the logistics project of a major customer. I took this opportunity and extended my stay in Switzerland from an initial 16-month National Service contract to a total period of three years.

The work was very new to me. At a time of rapid change in the logistics sector, I had to master a whole new system of organisation (flow management) and information processing. My function was very broad-based and gave me the opportunity to work with marketing, sales and customers. The experience was highly enriching.

I greatly enjoyed my experience in the subsidiary. Working abroad enabled me to broaden my horizons and taught me to work independently. It was also a rich cultural experience.

Human Resources had a newly bel group job offer as Logistics Manager at the Sablé plant. I headed a team of 50 people responsible for planning, scheduling, shipments and logistic information systems.

This work in an industrial plant, further up the supply chain, was very different from my experience in Switzerland. It rounded out my logistics know-how.
